Grants Available for Underserved Entrepreneurs from Federal Government
The US Department of Commerce has announced the launch of a new grant competition called the Capital Readiness Program, which will provide $93.5 million in funding to minority and other underserved entrepreneurs to help them start and grow their businesses. The program, which is being administered by the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), will provide funding to incubators and accelerators across the US that have the expertise to assist and train minority entrepreneurs in high-growth industries such as healthcare, climate resilient technology, and asset management and infrastructure. The Capital Readiness Program will also provide minority entrepreneurs with access to courses, tools, and resources to help them secure funding, as well as connect them with subject matter experts, vendors, and peers to help them start or grow their businesses. The MBDA will be hosting a series of pre-application webinars in January to help potential applicants understand the requirements of the program and the funding opportunity notice.
